I’m a Clinical Psychologist and Health Psychologist with professional registrations in both the UK and NZ and two doctoral level degrees in psychology. I’ve worked in both NZ and the UK with adults and children, assisting individuals and families to meet the challenges that life has thrown at them. More recently, I have done quite a lot of work on psychosocial support after emergency events, having advised the Ministry of Health on their psychosocial support plan after emergency events, and worked across Government to develop National plans, policies and practical resources. I also ran several training events across NZ in 2009 on helping people after emergency events. I trust that a lot of that training is being put to good use across NZ after the Christchurch quake.
My blog is now here: sarbjohal.com
In the meantime, this blog was my attempt to help as much as possible in the early response and recovery period after the Christchurch quake.
